When I was in high school I would make art to reflect how I was feeling or inner struggles.  As I began my journey back to art almost a year ago, I struggled with a lot of blockages.  I was dealing with a lot of emotions and felt unable to process them.  After feeling intense frustration at my lack of artistic creativity  or skill, I suddenly got this image in my head.  I dove into my watercolors and attempted to create what I saw.  I think I got pretty close!  What do you think the different colors mean?  The gesture of the hand?  The “rope”?  Do you ever feel the same way as I did when I made this piece?  ❤

Painted with craft paint on canvas.  Started as a test and practice piece, but once it was finished it felt like a God or powerful Spirit was staring back at me.  What do you think?  ❤

Multimedia.  Photocopied eyes that were modge podged onto a wood panel.

What does it say to you?  What does it make you feel?  ❤

Faery Tree

When I was in college the art gallery nearby installed an interactive dome structure.  I’m not sure what it was called now, but you could go in it and meditate, or sleep, or walk around the outside planks, or just listen to the ambient sounds they had playing.  One day I went in and napped.  When I woke up I remembered a dream I had about this tree.  It was white with glowing flowers and leaves.  A faery tree.  This image is inspired by that dream.  It is made with paint, charcoal, colored pencils, copied a couple of times, and some more paint I think.  It’s still one of my favorites.  ❤

Mountaintop Echoes

An ink on paper piece that I did in college.  Still one of my favorites.  It reminds me of how the moon can create amazing, dark shadows on everything in the winter.  The shadows contrasted with the snow and the sky lit up so bright is a haunting image that is one of the most beautiful to witness.  ❤

Disco Star Wars – collage

I made this collage with a computer way back when I was in high school.  It has always been a favorite of mine.  I didn’t find out until many years later that there is actually music to go with it!  ❤

Temptation – collage

I recently got myself some modge podge for paper and I made a random collage to test it out.  I didn’t realize until it was done that I created a sort of narrative picture.  I know how it related to my own life at the time I made it.

What do you think is happening in this image?  ❤
